From the , Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding is set to be tantalising for the senses.
And now the royal couple have an official scent thanks to luxury fragrance house Floris London.
Floris - the only perfumer to hold a Royal Warrant from the Queen - has created a bespoke scent for the nuptials inspired by Bergamotto di Positano, a warm citrus-infused unisex scent with a très romantic history.
The scent was created in homage to Charles Joseph Pagliano, who in the early 19th century left the enclave of the small fishing village, Positano, on the Amalfi coast to travel to England and marry his sweetheart Mary Floris.
Marrying into the Floris family, Pagliano and his wife took up ownership of the Sabloniere Hotel in Leicester Square and for over three decades in the early 1800’s held court in the heart of London as the first point of call and home for Italian visitors.
The perfumers describe the perfume as ‘a vivacious combination of orange blossom with a hint of vanilla which lends a smooth character and creaminess to complement the initial sparkle’.
With Meghan’s love of travel and the Italian coast (according to her now deleted Instagram account), the scent will be the perfect accompaniment to the couple’s spring wedding.
Harry and Meghan’s choice of Floris comes years after the brand made the scent 'Wedding Bouquet' for Prince William and Kate Middleton wedding. Floris also makes a new perfume for the Queen every year on her birthday.
Unfortunately, the brand hasn’t released the couple's official scent or designs of the bottle just yet but you can buy bottles of the original Bergamotto di Positano perfume from Floris .
Well, it’s one way to feel part of the couple’s big day, right?
