When the first images from Lady Gaga's beauty line were released last week, we got extremely excited. While she didn't reveal much about the upcoming Haus Laboratories, we did get a sneak peek of Gaga looking pretty much Photoshop free in four shots.
Now, however, we've got a look at exactly what she's been working on.
Gaga has debuted three products — RIP Lip Liner, Le Riot Lip Gloss and a phenomenal looking liquid-to-powder shimmer called Glam Attack — plus a reusable clutch.
Each product is vegan and cruelty-free. Available in six shades, the line will be available to preorder (in sets of two and three) on July 15 at 8am (UK time). The products will be available not only on Hauslabs.com but also on Amazon. 'Just like with my music, I wanted everyone to have access to it,' she told Allure.
They were all co-created by Gaga and her make-up artist Sarah Tanno, the brand's Global Artistry Director. Each three piece set, or 'haus,' will be £39, and are titled: Haus of Chained Ballerina, Haus of Goddess, Haus of Rockstar, Haus of Dynasty, Haus of Metalhead and Haus of Rose Bitch.
There will also be limited edition duo sets of the shimmer powders (£29), duo sets of the lip glosses (£26) and duo sets of the lip liners (£21).
Amazon Prime customers can preorder from Monday (on Prime Day), but you won't technically be able to get your hands on the make-up until the brand officially launches in September. For those you don't have Prime, preorder will be opened up after Prime Day, also with delivery in September.
In an interview with WWD, the Oscar winner said she is making these products for everyone.
'I see something happening in the world where I think a lot of people feel a pressure to look a certain type of way,' Gaga said. 'Either to look like someone else or to be so precise with their makeup and look so airbrushed and social media to fit in and to be considered beautiful, and I really want to take that idea, and I want to smash it.'
After Gaga dropped out of college and moved to the Lower East Side, she found a group of friends who expressed themselves with make-up. This experience, she told WWD, is what inspired her beauty line.
'Everybody looked completely different, but everybody was expressing themselves through their make-up and through their fashion and how they carried themselves and through their art,' Gaga said.
'I just remember going to the drugstore one day, picking up a bunch of different things and going home and sitting in front of the mirror and really asking myself, ‘How do you see yourself?’ And then I went to work.'
So, what does Lady Gaga want this beauty line to be? Fashion-changing, naturally. Well, would you expect anything less?
'Make-up changed my life,' she told Allure. 'I never felt beautiful, and I still have days that I don't feel beautiful. All of the insecurities that I've dealt with my whole life from being bullied when I was younger, they come right back up to bite me.
Then I put make-up on, and before I know it, I feel this superhero within. It gives me those wings to fly. I'm not saying that make-up is the only thing that does that, but it did that for me.'
