For her services to the fashion industry, creative director Sarah Burton was among those recognised with an OBE - or Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire - on Saturday in the Queens Honours List.
The designer's name became household the minute Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, stepped out of the car on her wedding day wearing a lace dress created by Burton who had famously kept the secret right up until that moment.
Emma Hill, creative director at , was also honoured by becoming a CBE. Hill is the creative force behind the brands cult handbags, including the Alexa, the Del Rey and the Tillie.
According to , Miss Helen Asprey a member of the jewellery family of the same name was made Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order after working for the royals for more than 12 years. The Order is given by the Queen to people who have served her or the monarchy in a personal way; to wit, Miss Asprey has worked for the Royals for the last 12 years and is the current private secretary to both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
