You can only be certain of three things in life. You are born, you will die, and the extreme hair colour that Josh Wood creates for one stand-out model in the Alexander Wang NYFW show will be the colour that launches her career.
And we will lust after it with a vengeance.
This Autumn Winter 2018 season is no different. Josh created a seriously expensive, seriously cool 'flame red' shade for Korean model . Previously peroxide blonde, EZ was only girl with the punchy colour, so of course we're going to be drawn like, well, like a moth to a flame.
Josh is coining this colour 'Garnet Red,' and we are already in love.
One thing to note, you need a completely desaturated base colour to get the truest shade result possible. Yep, that means bleaching first. EZ was already pigment-less, but Josh uses - a new heat activated colour technology that lightens the hair completely in 20 minutes (launching in salons nationwide from April).
The reason behind the colour punch? Alexander Wang's inspiration for his AW18 show was Powerful Female Figures, and Josh saw this 'rich, jewel red' as 'a properly powerful shade for powerful women'.
Hairstylist Guido then slicked the hair back with gel and used classic '80's Claw Clip to hold the hair in place.
With the hair colour in place, Diane Kendal, makeup artist for Wang this season used Nars to create 'Powerful Glory'. The key is to bolden the brows, rather than the more classic lip option. 'This is a way of achieving the feel of a strong woman without the expected makeup.'
Diane used to give a high shine to the cheekbones, then filled brows with matte eyeshadow for a boyish finish. 'A sculpted, contoured face gives strength but with softness.'
AW18. The season of unexpected, powerful beauty. We're sold.
