Swathes of baby's breath and bows galore - we can't take our eyes of Rodarte's SS18 beauty

Couture week is officially here which means one thing in the beauty biz - all of the hair and make-up inspiration you could ever need.

And Rodarte didn't disappoint.

Sending their SS18 collection wafting down the cloisters of a 17th Century Parisian Abbey, sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy dreamt up the most ethereal Spring time beauty look ever.

Imagined up by hair stylist to the stars and the woman behind Sofia Coppola's similarly demure looks in The Beguiled, Odile Gilbert, swathes of white gypsophilia aka baby's breath blossoms were draped across models' arms and tangled effortlessly in hair as if they'd emerged onto the runway after a wanton tumble in a meadow. As one does.

Smaller sprigs were even tucked into gold and silver cuffs and wrapped around arms, in what we're dubbing the latest way to wear your wedding flowers.

Add to that scatterings of black and white satin ribbons in hair (a more polished take on Rodarte's SS17 shipwrecked look) and the Victoriana bridesmaid vibe was complete.

The whimsical references didn't stop there with make-up artist James Kaliardos adorning models' eyes with 'raindrops' in the form of NARS silver 'Interstellar' eye paint. The look? The 'effect of a rain drop delicately hitting the eyelid'. Could it get any more magical?

Finishing the fairytale look? It was all about the fingertips. The latest show to do a Gucci and adorn models' fingers, Rodarte singlehandedly created the prettiest floral manicure ever and made thumb rings chic. Yes, really.

Adorning hands, wrists and fingers with sprigs of baby's breath tucked into golden cuffs, bows and strawberry thumb rings, the floral theme continued onto nails where pro manicurist Tracy Lee used Morgan Taylor varnish in 'Sugar Fix' for an opalescent base, before pressing in fresh flowers and painting daisies onto nails and down the models' fingers.

And of course, adding a little Swarovski bling.

The Summer solstice might have been and gone but we'll be dashing to the nearest florist and wearing baby's breath everywhere from now on.
